PARKSTRONG is an outdoor community fitness event hosted in Hilly Fields, SE4, raising money for London’s Air Ambulance Charity.  

PARKSTRONG takes inspiration from the very popular ‘Hyrox’ events that take place across the country and around the world, combining running with functional fitness strength exercises.

PARKSTRONG is a collaborative event with Hilly Fields Run Sessions and Mace Masters with 6 fundamental strength exercises, and 6 run intervals in Hilly Fields.

Participants will complete 1 strength exercise, followed by 1 run interval and repeat 6 times. There are full and sprint distance options, individual and partner entries.

Run distance: 1km, repeated 6 times

Run distance: 500m, repeated 6 times

Start time: 12:30

Work with your partner to complete the runs and strength exercises.

​Run distance: 500m, repeated 6 times. Run together or share the running, your choice!

​Strength exercises: Only one partner working at a time, share the exercises however works best for you.

PARKSTRONG pointers:

  • Participants will receive one overall time for the event

  • Participants are responsible for counting their own numbers of reps for the strength exercise stations, however there will be helpful volunteers on hand to remind 

  • Strength exercises - it is totally fine to take breaks during the number of reps required for each strength station if required

  • If the weather prevents us from going ahead on March 16th we will rearrange for an alternative date, but will not offer any entry fee refunds.

PARKSTRONG training:

  • Join our group running and strength classes and have fun while training for PARKSTRONG.

  • Strength for Runners uses maces, hand maces and body weight in functional strength training that not only prepares you for PARKSTRONG but also includes key running movement patterns to make your running more resilient too.  Saturdays 9:45am, Hilly Fields stone circle.

  • Strength for Runners sessions with Mace Masters are starting to build in the PARKSTRONG exercises and the sessions on Saturdays March 1st and 8th will specifically target learning and practicing them to get you ready for PARKSTRONG.

  • Hilly Fields Run Sessions are interval based run sessions which are perfect preparation for the 1km or 500m runs in PARKSTRONG. Tuesdays 6:15am or Fridays 9:30am, Hilly Fields.

London’s Air Ambulance Charity

London’s Air Ambulance Charity delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. By providing intervention as quickly as possible after injury, they aim to give patients the best chance of survival, and best quality of life, after trauma. We know the difference they can make and so we'll be donating all the proceeds of PARKSTRONG to help them do this.

The only part of the entrance fee which isn't donated will be to cover the costs of running the event, which we will keep as small as possible.
